St David's Day
Welsh cakes are traditional:
8oz SR Flour
4oz butter
2oz sugar
1tsp mixed spice
1 egg
a little milk
1-2ozs sultanas mixed in before cutting...
Make as you would scones but cut in 1/4 inch thick rounds. These are baked on a dry griddle or non-stick pan over a low heat. Each side takes 5 minutes roughly - don't ry to rush it - do preheat the griddle and don't turn over too soon. If you turn the heat up they'll burn. Sprinkle with sugar when done. Makes about 14.

Experimental Oonahverse
I have launched a site to publish some of the good old 'stuff' that's - good but rather old and just sitting around going slowly out of date.
So if you'd like to read what no one has read before :)
Please drift over to my Word Press Blog and take a look at the latest. I'll try to upload at the rate of one a week.

Haiku Afternoon
I just spent a wonderfully enriching afternoon with the Newcastle Haiku Society, discussing the works of masters like Basho, Buson, Issa and Shiki - and Peter Mortimer :) who is never going to forgive me - punctuation-wise and I don't blame him... Nice hat, Peter :)
Thanks to Chris for inviting me along. Morden Tower is also a wonderful venu. What a privilege.
The only Haiku I ever wrote is in The Shine Journal here: http://www.theshinejournal.com/joslinoonahv.htm
so Peter can get his own back.
